Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies This is a wonderful program our school has where each lower grade class is hooked up with an upper grade class. We meet once a week and assign a buddy to each child. Some of the children have 2 buddies because the upper grade classes are much larger than the lower grade classes. During our time together the buddies read for about 40 minutes with one another. They also make special gifts, have holiday parties together etc. At school the buddies ‘look out’ for one another as well. It really is a great mentor program.
